Ground cover or procumbent, it forms low, creeping cushions of green-gray, hairy leaves, studded with sapphire blue star flowers from late spring to summer. Plants must have well-drained, acidic soil to thrive (heavy clay soils are not good as a result). Cultivar winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM) for the intensity of the color of the flowers.
