Magnificent small climbing plant with wide, triangular, velvety leaves and masses of tubular pink flowers up to 5 cm in diameter. Lophospermum erubescens is native to the montane forests of Mexico and Guatemala between 900 and 2200 m. Asarina erubescens is a delightful ornamental plant for warm temperate and some tropical climates (withstands light peaks of frost down to 3 degrees below zero). It blooms from spring to autumn, produces many seeds and is easily re-sown. Loves the morning sun, does not tolerate excessive sun.
