Hydrangea arborescens 'Candybelle Bubblegum' is a compact, highly floriferous hydrangea, characterized by large, spherical inflorescences suffused with pink that illuminate the garden all summer long. Unlike many traditional hydrangeas, it blooms on the newest branches and can therefore be pruned vigorously in late winter without compromising its blooms.
It reaches approximately 80-120 cm in height and width, forming neat, sturdy bushes, suitable for both borders and pots. It grows well in sun or partial shade, as long as the soil remains regularly watered during the hottest periods. Very hardy, it can withstand temperatures down to about -30°C (USDA 4).
Its abundant, fuzzy pink blooms like a Bigbabol and its compact growth habit make it one of the best hydrangeas for those seeking color, ease of cultivation, and a long-lasting decorative appearance.
