Tradescantia fluminensis 'Albovittata'

Rapidly growing herbaceous perennial with unmistakable leaves very thickly streaked with white, used as a hanging plant in pots or as a ground cover, outdoors in mild climates.

It is a very easy plant to care for, magnificent in a pot, even for small spaces and dimly lit apartments. In the open ground it forms very dense carpets.

Characteristics
Description of the flowers: Small, with three petals, gathered in corymbs.
Flower color: White.
Flowering period: All year round with temperatures above 12°C, it needs a few hours of sun (not too intense) to flower well.
Leaves: Fleshy, hairy, lanceolate, with thick and thin white streaks. The branches are immediately drooping and procumbent, not erect. In the sun they also turn pink.
Perfume: -
Dimensions: The plant expands indefinitely, growing according to the space and land it has available: where it crawls and takes root, carpeting the ground. Height about 10 cm.

Cultivation
Exposure: Sun (excess direct sun, however, can cause the leaves to burn), partial shade, shade (it grows equally well in the shade, but does not flower).
Soil: Well drained.
Irrigation: As needed, without excesses or stagnation.
Frost resistance: USDA 9

Care
Pruning: Trimming to trim the plant, during the period of active growth (spring-summer).
Propagation: From cuttings with more than 20°C.
